Navigating the Gulf Islands
When it comes to charting a course in the west coast the only issues are: where to go and why do we ever come home?
Usually we chart a course before we go, pack accordingly and then alter our course based on weather. Sometimes, however, particular harbours are so beautiful or have so much character we can’t bare to leave.
Admittedly, there aren’t too many young families on the water these days. Affordability and minimal moorage available make boating unavailable to the majority. However, most marine parks (harbours for anchorage) have incredible campsites available with beautiful vistas if you’re willing to travel off the beaten path.
This year we’re returning to the Gulf Islands to some of our favourite spots I hope to capture and share all the possibilities as we go.
